Publications: read the source, keep its context

Two different publications answer different questions. A comparative account of systems is not the same document as guidance about quality and evaluation.

2022 quality-and-evaluation guidance

Learning from the Erasmus+ Keep Educating Yourself (KEY) Project: Good Practice Guidance on Quality and Evaluation in Developing Preschool Teacher Training Continuing Professional Development Hubs. Edited by Geraldine Lee-Treweek and Kevin Hoffin. Published by the Sirmium college in Sremska Mitrovica, 2022.

Read the university repository record and access its PDF. The PDF’s publication page prints ISBN 978-86-80697-86-4; repository metadata displays a different ISBN. Use the publication itself when checking the edition.

The contents cover project context, stakeholder participation, theory of change, quality management and evaluation methods. For orientation, read chapter 1 for the project’s scope and chapter 8 for the choice of evaluation methods. This is access through the host repository; this edition does not redistribute the book.

Earlier comparative CPD study

The Vršac report cites a comparative study covering Serbia, Montenegro, Hungary, Romania, Slovenia and Great Britain. Its former link ended in Prelom-PUBLIKACIJA-KEY-en-200108.pdf. That older title is a separate record; the 2022 book above is not a replacement file.

Open the comparative study record. This page records the citation, known scope and access limitations. It does not reproduce unverified study findings or present a newly written PDF as the original.

A short source-reading routine

  • Write the question you want the source to answer before opening it.
  • Record the title, year, chapter or page and publisher. A filename is not a complete citation.
  • Separate what authors report from what your own setting would need to check.
  • Check whether a statement describes a project ambition, a delivered output or evidence about its effect.
  • Keep the original publication link with your notes so a colleague can trace the claim.
